Machine Maintenance Mechanic  - Looking for both day and night shift *

This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding production machine components and related equipment.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair complex machine components and parts.
  • Perform tool room machine operation to make simple replacement parts.
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas; reassemble machines and equipment once problem is resolved.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Diagnose complex problems, determine corrective action required, and take corrective action.
  • Assist in set up activities as needed to ensure operations are performed accurately.

 

Required Qualifications for this role include:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 5+ years related experience. Associate’s degree in a mechanical or technical field desirable.
  • Four year state certificate apprentice program and journeyman license.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Good math skills, including knowledge of shop/mechanical mathematics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to solve problems to prevent recurrence.
  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and production personnel.
  • Ability to work with electrical connections, pneumatic cylinders, and PLC controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, maintenance instructions, and detailed procedure manuals.


Travel:

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed required.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use close vision, color vision, and depth perception for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk on a regular basis and occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Knowledge of and follow safety regulations and practices.

Work Environment

  • Employee is regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts and at risk of electrical shock.
  • Employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme heat, and vibration. PPE, including respirator use, is occasionally required.
  • Noise level in work environment is generally moderate.
  • Recycling is required.
