Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Technician 

Vetted Tech is a veteran owned and operated company. They design and print parts for the aerospace industry among others and business has grown quickly. This position is open to all veterans and we encourage anyone with experience in CAD and/or 3D printing to apply. The incumbent is not expected to have a lot of experience before coming in and will learn on-the-job. 

Pay Rate and Hours: $60k yearly with evaluation at 6 months for a raise. ~40 hours/wk 

Location: Syracuse

Job Summary: The AM Technician would support all aspects of AM activities inside the facility using various advanced additive and subtractive manufacturing machines (LPBF, FDM, EDM, and CNC). These activities include process documentation, machine set-up for print jobs, overseeing the 3D print process and quality as the machine(s) operate(s), and propose projects to improve AM processes. Incumbent will safely handle the metal before and after the build, this includes sieving, loading, part de-powdering, measuring, and safe storage. Manage the life cycle of the metal material, maintain part(s) traceability, as well as coordinate powder suppliers and powder recycling services. Perform routine maintenance on the machines and troubleshoot manufacturing hardware. Incumbent will provide training to new manufacturing staff as the company expands.

Primary Responsiblities:

• Work directly from CAD models to produce AM components in a variety of different metals
• Perform machine setup, post processing, tracking of raw materials and managing new and in process parts through multi-step workflows
• Maintain schedules in conjunction with safety and quality within a fast-paced environment
• Manage the workspace in a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained manner
• Complete production builds per operating schedule, and support part flow through process as needed to support business goals for quality and on-time delivery metrics
• Observe, log, and report new and continuing printer and part quality related issues
• Operate forklifts, manual lifts, and pallet jacks to safely move product around the facility
• Inspect material and make notations of any exceptions and/or damages for all inbound and outbound shipments
• Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery

Desired Qualifications: 

• 1+ years working as an AM technician with either LPBF, FDM, or EDM machines (EOS M290, Markforged) 
• AS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Optical Technology, or related field
• Experience working with Advanced Manufacturing and Reverse Engineering is a plus
• Knowledge of CNC programming a plus
• Experience with metal powders is a plus
• Excellent mechanical skills, including the use of both power and hand tools
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gages, precision scales, etc.)
• Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 pounds
• Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
