Job Title: Spray Painter
Reports To: Plastics Supervisor

Summary/Objective: Applies coatings to molded plastic parts per job specification, maintains
quality and safety standards; completes production output records; maintaining equipment and
supplies.


Job Responsibilities
 Situates the parts to be painted in the proper location and position.
 Mixes primers and paints by adding thinner as required.
 Applies masking tape to parts per customer requirements.
 Monitor painted parts to ensure the proper drying time(s) for batches.
 Relocated the painted parts and incoming parts to be painted to the correct locations with
the associated paperwork filled out accurately.
 Uses air operated sprayer to apply primer and smooth or textured coatings to customer
specifications to a variety of plastic parts.
 Adheres to quality standards for the part being painted.
 Verifies production counts with the job traveler and routes the job as required.
 .Requisitions materials as necessary to keep an adequate supply.
 Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
 Maintains equipment and filters by completing preventive maintenance requirements;
following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
 Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions,
irregularities, and continuing needs.
 Documents actions by completing production and quality logs..
 Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective
equipment, and practices good housekeeping.
 Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and
standards of conduct.
 Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline
MIS system.
 Applies classroom and on the job post training information, knowledge, skills, and
abilities consistently in a quality oriented manner (wherein the KSAs are part of the jobs
tasks, duties and other tasks as requested).
 Performs other tasks as directed including deburring parts and performing other
operations during cycle.

Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications
 High school graduate or equivalent with good math skills and 6 months experience in
industrial spray painting/automotive painting preferable.
 Strong attention to detail regarding details such as but not limited to finish and paint
shade(s).
 Conceptual Skills, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional Skills,
Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail, Judgment

Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, remain on feet for extended time periods, reach, stoop. Kneel and lift up to and
including 35 pounds as needed. Visual abilities to discern finish and color shade gradations and
manual dexterity.

Salary: $18/hr+DOE

Hours: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday-Friday
