LANDSCAPE FOREMAN  

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Summary/Expectations-

To implement from beginning to end Landscape projects designed or arranged by this firm. Responsible for coordinating needed materials, labor and equipment to efficiently complete the job contract. Must be able to manage crewmembers and treat clients with the highest level of professionalism.

Must be able to communicate well with customers and make changes with them in a professional manor. Completion of the job requires a final “Walkthrough” with the customer to ensure job was done correctly and if directions are needed; ie: watering plants.

Occasionally responsible for collecting deposits and final payments from customers. Must work well with others, and have the ability to delegate, supervise, and train new foreman and crewmembers. Responsible for conduct, production, and quality of all crewmembers. 

Responsible for: trucks and equipment daily (oil level maintenance, safe operation and proper use of all equipment) Refueling at the end of each day, pre-trip inspections, and return of tools to their proper place in the shop to maintain efficiency.

 

Responsible for delegation of these tools. Job site safety; make all crewmembers aware of safety issues in this field, to themselves as well as the general public and our clients as described in the Landscapes East Safety Manual. Safe operation of equipment, including skid steers, Chain Saws, Trucks, Tampers, Stone Saws, etc. Participate in weekly employee safety meetings.

Must be able to complete and maintain detailed Job Tracking Forms for Job Quality and Production Assurance.

Foreman must have a valid N.Y.S. Drivers License and a CDL-A License (or acquired once hired)

Must have extensive background and experience in some aspects of Landscape installation including Hardscape Installations (walk, walls, patios) Landscape Lighting, Lawn installation, Drainage, Landscape plantings, Pruning and Plant care, etc. Past experience with customer relations and crew members a must.

Having a formal Education in the Landscape industry is a big plus. Continuing education in the changing industry will be expected.

Must be physically fit to perform all installations as necessary, with no prior pre-existing conditions that would influence your ability to perform your duties. Must be available to work long flexible hours Monday through Friday.
