The successful candidate will regulate multiple areas of the ongoing projects to ensure that they are completed within budget, on time, and following all safety precautions. Candidate must have experience with NYSDOT and large project operations management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Safety team and HR to ensure all company and government safety regulations are being met
  • Demonstrates a high level of professional ethics
  • Coordinates with Project Engineers and Foreman to ensure the progression of projects in a timely manner while being heavily involved with day-to-day allocation of resources
  • Delegates tasks to be completed by Foremen and regulates the completion of successful day-to-day operations
  • Resolves conflicts that arise throughout the projects
  • Communicates with subcontractors and other employees to ensure the procurement of supplies and materials as needed
  • Verifies accurate inventory of materials and equipment
  • Attends and plans meetings as necessary
  • Exhibits a professional and positive attitude while interacting with vendors and suppliers
  • Aspires to complete projects on time in accordance with the contract
  • Formulates on the spot decision making and provides problem solving solutions
  • Discloses any problems with the projects including but not limited to accidents, injuries and damages to equipment
  • Completes any additional assignments as needed 

Skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in management of large projects and NYSDOT experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents and blueprints
  • Effectively communicate with subcontractors, employees and superiors
  • Advanced ability to interpret and review construction plans and drawings

Education

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related and at least 6-7 years of experience

Physical Requirements

  • Wears and maintains PPE as required by company safety guidelines
  • Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms
  • Standing/working on feet for long periods of time
  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Proven track record with working safely
