Position Title: Superintendent
Location(s): Syracuse, NY
Pay Range: $85k - $95k/yr
Position Description
To provide on-site supervision for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Duties:
Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion
Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed
Communicate with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals
Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work
Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions
Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards
Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution
Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite as well as project daily employee sign-in sheets, safety inspection logs, progress photos, SWPPP document control, SDS maintenance, etc.
Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team
Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning
Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work / sequencing of project
Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling
Ensure that the job site is always kept safe, clean, and organized
Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
Ensure proper staffing
Maintain positive relationship with owners and owner’s representative
Position Requirements
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Construction related field (or equivalent experience)
Effective use of technology: mobile phone, fax, email, computer programs, digital camera, etc.
Ability to visit entire job site (including stairs and elevated structures)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good math/accounting skills
Strong management skills
Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
Functions effectively as part of a team
Exhibits strong leadership qualities
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Delegates work appropriately
