Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for experienced Transport Drivers out of our Tonawanda, NY facility.

Main Responsibilities

  • Haul asphalt based emulsion and or hot oil throughout New York State
  • Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of assigned commercial motor vehicle: This requires climbing up, on and over unit to verify everything is in proper working order.
  • Transport various pieces of construction equipment to multiple job sites across New York and occasionally Pennsylvania

 

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with Airbrakes and Tanker Endorsement required; HazMat Endorsements preferred
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
  • Frequent exposure to loud noise
  • Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles, exposure to high temperatures
  • Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
  • Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
