Position Summary

Listed work hours: Multiple shifts available

This position is an entry-level position into the Machine Shop department. Responsible for entry-level machine shop duties and responsibilities in support of manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates various machines for basic tasks such as lathes, saws, honing machine, etc
• Performs mechanical operations using various hand tools
• Maintains appropriate records
• Continues technical growth and development
• Follows all safety standards, practices and procedures
• Practices good housekeeping and maintains a practical and clean workspace
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Six months related metal shop experience;
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, and operating, training and safety manuals, documents and forms;
• Ability to use and understand precise measuring tools/devices;
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and convert fractions/decimals;
• Strong ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating a honing machine a plus.
